We've spent thanksgiving week here 7 times. We've always returned due to the view, lay out of the house, and how well the kitchen is equipped. We come other times of the year and stay other locations. During those trips we support the local eateries and don't cook as much on our own. During thanksgiving week we cook all of our meals each day at "home" and minus the smoke alarm going off when you open the oven it's always an awesome experience. There are more than enough pots, pans, cutlery, and all other cooking essentials provided.

Salamander II. Is our family favorite. This was our second year staying there and have booked again next year. The location and views are amazing. Perfect size for two families of four, especially w/ teenagers. Minor suggestions would be the refrigerator temperature isn’t quite cool enough. However kitchen is WELL stocked with all Of the dishes and utensils you could ask for.

Awesome property. We kept our boat at the dock and also seam from the dock. There are a few poles just under the surface of the water that could potentially be hazardous.

Loved the simple addition of the swing to the lower deck - between that and the hammock, we spent a lot of time there when we weren't out doing other things. Loved our stay!

We've rented homes on Ocracoke for around 15 years now - with Sharon Miller, Ocracoke Island Realty and Blue Heron most recently. By far, Blue Heron is the best we've dealt with. As for Salamander II, we love renting there - great location, great house - the interesting layout works well for our family of 5. We'd miss it if they ever stop renting it!
