It worked very well for our family of 6. Very well laid out. We appreciated the responsiveness of the host family to our questions and requests in advance of this rental, and we were totally pleased with the rental when we actually saw it and enjoyed it for one week. Pictures on the outside just show a rectangular box; but inside it is a very comfortable home that worked well for our two-generation family. We also liked its location and neighborhood. Very convenient. Near the stores and main drag yet away from crowds with more than adequate privacy.

We stayed at the Guardian of the Sea in Ocracoke for a week in end of April 2023. My family and I absolutely fell in love with this house and the whole community. We had 5 people in our group. The home is beautifully decorated with a lot of coastal and local decor. We loved the new bathrooms and remodeled kitchen with the new kitchen island for extra seating and prep space. The living room has an over-sized sectional and two armchairs where we had family gatherings watching movies and playing games. I took my first outdoor shower there and thought it was amazing! This house is in a great location, and we could easily walk and bike to everything. The owners really thought through the amenities that would be important to us. We were pleasantly surprised that every bedroom has its own new TV, ceiling and box fans, comfy mattresses and a nice assortment of pillows and blankets. We sat on the porch every morning for coffee and had a great view of the sunrise. They have a nice little yard with a large charcoal grill and picnic table, as well as a hammock which I had a nice nap in. This house is functional and comfortable for a family or couples to rent together. We highly recommend this house and look forward to our next visit. We're already planning to return to Guardian of the Sea!
Just had the best birthday weekend in Ocracoke. Guardian of the Sea was the perfect home to accommodate our group of five women. It's so conveniently located, beautifully decorated and comfortable. We were impressed with how clean it was and how comfortable the beds were. Loved the off-season vibe on the island. We will definitely return to Guardian of the Sea.
